Four and Twenty Blackberries

I know it's late notice and I know this only applies to the locals, BUT today apparently is Blackberry Day. I don't want you to miss it. At the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market, it is Berry Day (open until noon) with loads and loads of fresh berries (among other things) to choose from as well as a blueberry pancake breakfast from Alex at Cheesecakes by Alex. And, ohhhhh my goodness, these pancakes are slammin'.

The other thing (and this is open until 9pm) is Blackberry Cobbler Day at Stamey's. Once a year (on Mr. Stamey's birthday or something), they serve blackberry cobbler until it runs out. I'm going in an hour and buying as many servings as I can without getting weird looks from people. Baby's gotta have his blackberry cobbler. And if they're out, the peach is always a winner. I'm pretty sure it's won awards and stuff.

Now I'm going to go stuff my face with these fresh blackberries. Holy. Berry. (HA! That almost sounds like Halle Berry. It should be a character on some kids' show that teaches about local food. Okay, I'm sorry. It's early, and I'm loopy. I'm going to go now.)

Ooo, I'd be grabbing as many servings as I could, too. All for my family, of course (wink).
