Expressions

I express myself through food.
I cook.
I feed.
I experiment.
I teach.
I EAT.
My greatest desire is to love people out of something bigger than myself, and one of the best ways I know how to do that is through food.
Your expression might be different. It might be photography, your sense of humor, Seinfeld quotes, or just a quiet calm that you bring to your relationships. It could be something no one else knows about but is still integral to who you are. Regardless, we all express ourselves in unique ways, and I want to share one quick example with you.
You've met my mom before. She hangs out over at Imagery Limited where she makes stained glass and mosaic masterpieces. Remember the window hanging from my ceiling?
I wanted to show you this piece she did; it's a mosaic of my two nieces. These are the photos the art was based on.
And this is the finished project.
This is how my mom expresses herself - through glass. It's a way she can love people that's unique to her, a way she can display who she is without saying a word.

It's absolutely beautiful. What a wonderfully gifted mother you have. Miss all you Greensboro folks!
How wonderful! This post was endearing and uplifting.
Amazing and so thoughtful - God has given us so many unique ways to share and express ourselves - what a gift
the mosaic is so pretty :)
I love your blog. I have used your recipes. They are wonderful. I, too, express myself through food. And feeding people. And keeping people safe. And loving people through food. Thus the name of my blog.
Your mother's mosaics are incredible. I wonder if she would do something for me? I can't think of a more beautiful way to memorialize my husband.
P.S. Gorgeous nieces.
That is gorgeous! But look at the beautiful models she had, too. :D
Amazing stained glass work. I'll have to jump over to her site. She is so talented.
I love what you wrote about expressing yourself through food. I try to as well.
It is so rewarding when they love what you make and say make this again, mom!
Thanks for your wonderul blog.
