Simple Pleasures

My father-in-law retired last month, and he would often use this tea set to serve his clients and colleagues. Japanese culture is all about their tea, and there's something transcendent about serving it from a beautiful pot to a beautiful cup. It feels special... unique yet familiar. Thanks to retirement, I am now the grateful and proud owner of this treasure. Whenever I make tea at home, I usually throw it in regular old mug, and it feels pretty ordinary. Now? A cup of afternoon tea is transformed. Beautiful, a sweet reminder of family, and a welcomed chance to slow down, sip, and smile. Sure, it's simple, but I love it.

Today is Thanksgiving, and simple pleasures are all around. Don't forget to look.
